I spend time listening to and understanding your concerns and difficulties with feeding. This allows me to provide information and support to help you and your baby overcome the feeding difficulties you are experiencing.
This may include managing expectations, exploring normal infant feeding behaviours from an anthropological perspective and optimising positioning and attachment.
I am experienced in helping to optimise supplementation to complement ongoing breastfeeding and weaning from formula supplements.
There are times when I may suggest seeking support from the wider health network such an osteopath, speech and language therapists, or paediatricians.

I am also insured to perform tongue tie release in babies with feeding complications. Frenulotomy is not a stand alone service and may only be considered as part of the bigger picture. This is why frenulotomy is only provided after a wider infant feeding assessment whether the baby is breastfeeding or bottle feeding.
It is not considered good practice to undertake frenulotomy as a preventative measure for potential future complications.

If during the appointment a frenulotomy is postponed, deemed clinically unnecessary, or I am unable to proceed for any reason, this will be reduced to £195. I can make a referrals to a consultant led service if needed.
