*Coronavirus / COVID-19*
I have started to work again and will be taking appropriate precautions to reduce the risk of transmission. I will be changing the way I work by doing the feeding assessment ahead of any home visits. I will be adjusting how my fees are paid during this time (for more information please go to the fees page).

About me

My name is Vicky Jordan and I am a Registered Nurse, International Board Certificated Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Tongue-tie Practitioner operating in Kent & Medway. I am a registered provider with the Care Quality Commission allowing me to undertake surgical procedures. (I am listed with the NMC, IBCLE and CQC as Victoria).
In 1998 I qualified as a nurse and for most of my career I have worked within the NHS. After the birth of my first daughter I became a La Leche League Leader (Breastfeeding Counsellor) in 2010, following on from my own breastfeeding experience. In 2012 - 2013 I undertook a specialist course that would later allow me to be eligible to take the IBCLC exam. In 2014, I undertook further specialist training at Southampton General Hospital for the division of tongue-tie (frenulotomy). This was under the supervision of Mr Mervyn Griffiths MCh FRCS & Jayne Threlfall RM IBCLC. I then set up in private practice to support mothers and babies with feeding problems associated with tongue-tie. In April 2016 I undertook and passed the exam to become an IBCLC.
My scope of practice is the division of tongue-tie, in babies under 6 months, where feeding difficulties are experienced by either the baby or their mother. I will only proceed if the baby has received prophylactic Vitamin K. I am a member of the Association of Tongue-tie Practitioners (ATP) and I have Medical indemnity and Public Liability insurance with Hiscox
I am a busy mother of two young children, whom I educate from home. I love making things and enjoy learning new craft activities, I also love cooking and eating and more recently have taken up running and belly dancing classes. In addition to my private practice, I continue to be involved with breastfeeding groups in my local area on a voluntary basis.
